If Germany and the eurozone have to accept that we need more borrowing, what would happen to the relationship with Brussels in that situation? Last month the administration of Tony Blair offered its lowest possible offer of support to Greece, but it was more a slap in the face to Europeans when, if the European Union could also demand Athens immediately stop paying its debt burden (no need for a bailout after all), why not at least take a stand?
